The star sculpture
Two steel five pointed stars (pentagrams) of the same size are placed so that the four points of their bases form a quadrangle and the two points at the top are touching. The result is a “pyramidal star”. Stars of various sizes can be used. In the centre of the start sculpture there is a “magic stone” that serves as a symbolic store for wishes, messages and stories.

Idea
The idea is the creation of a stellar constellation on earth.
It symbolises the peaceful contact and exchange between cultures.

Aims
A Worldstar can be erected at practically any location. There are no rules defining the selection of a location – they are chosen in a living cooperative process. When a large number of Worldstars have been erected across the globe, connecting and uniting the countries with their cultural diversity, a “we-feeling “ will result.
The aim is to involve economically and socially weak countries, marginalized groups and minorities, providing mutual support and opportunities for learning from one another. “Rich” and “poor” are relative terms.
„First, second, third world – together we are one!“

Worldstar – hotspots
Worldstar hotspots are locations that touch the heart, crying out for attention. These are locations where people provide help, working to improve the health, education and development of the underprivileged.

With a Worldstar installation at these locations we will be able to give aid projects in these areas an international stage.
Hotspots don’t just occur in the so called poor countries but in any small town you care to mention, literally “next door”. Reason enough to provide assistance and integration with “Worldstar events”, even here, on your own doorstep.

The travelling Worldstar wish book
As soon as the first star has been erected, people will have the opportunity to write down their wishes in the public wish book. The artist, acting as an ambassador, will travel with the book, presenting it to the people at the next Worldstar site.
